There are times in life when our determination is tested. When everything seems like it is no longer worth the struggle. When it would be easier to quit then continue on. Success comes from a place of determination or as Angela Duckworth calls it “grit.” The ability to continue on and persevere even when it seems like there is no light in sight. The drive to continue into the darkness without any prospects for success. That is real determination and the stuff elite performers are made from.
From a quick google search common-sense is defined as “good sense and sound judgment in practical matters.” This definition sums up common-sense fairly well. But I look at common sense as the ability to make fewer mistakes and make better decisions.
Here is my list of ways to develop habits. Developing healthy habits is one of the keys to achieving success. Most of the top performers that I have researched develop healthy habits that led to their success. Over a period, you can develop your habits that will lead to your success.
The Power of One – Small Changes = Big Results
Education is something most people stop after finishing their formal educational. We stop reading books. We stop learning new skills and ideas. We get into the same habits of going to work and paying bills. We come home play with the kids, watch TV, and sleep. We wake up the next day and do it all over again.

It’s a fictional book about a billionaire that takes on two students and teaches him the ways of “The 5 AM Club.” The premise of this book is own your morning, own your life. I really enjoyed this book, and I learned a lot from it. The way Sharma presents information keeps you engaged and encourages you to keep reading so you can learn the lessons the billionaire is teaching his students.
